John Mark Karr Vanishes - Killer Still at Large

Three years after his grossly publicized arrest, no one takes notice that John Mark Karr has fallen from the planet, possibly as far back as a year ago. Can we all breathe easier now that he's gone or was there never a reason to be concerned? Nevertheless, unresolved questions still linger.

INTERNATIONAL (Lei Sussurra) August 22, 2009 -- Boulder Colorado should most appropriately be known for its scenic views and environmentally conscious inhabitants. The small city, nestled in the Rocky Mountain foothills, is a natural paradise. Many would agree the unfortunate fact that such a place might be more prevalently known as the site of the tragic murder of a six year old child.

Now that 13 years have passed and the only person arrested for JonBenet Ramsey's murder has vanished, can the people of Boulder put this tragedy behind them once and for all or are there unanswered questions that deserve a response? Undoubtedly, a demand for answers must persist. The people of the State of Colorado must not rest until a killer pays for taking the life of a little girl.

If Karr was a delusional liar then who killed this child and what was the reason for her murder? If Karr did not kill her, was he still connected somehow to her death? If so, might he still be expected to answer questions never posed to him in 2006 or should he be discounted altogether?

The overly publicized case always leads to conclusions of popular consensus which flies in the face of professional law enforcement on every count. If wild theories determine an outcome, solution be doomed. If authorities are affected by a lower good such as the sensational media and public hysteria, is such an effect on law enforcement's behalf forgivable? An absolute and firm "no" should resonate from all whom await justice for this little girl.

Is handwriting analysis a bit of nonsense that should never be considered in a court of law? In Karr's case, there seemed an agenda to point out its insignificance. In strong opposition, law enforcement that sampled the handwriting of Patsy Ramsey must have thought otherwise. Patsy Ramsey was never arrested for the murder of her own daughter; Karr was. If there is any validity in handwriting analysis, various experts continue to concur that Karr wrote a ransom note that was held by law enforcement as physical evidence. Notably however, some of the experts expressed that, though they were convinced that Karr penned the ransom note, it did not prove that he murdered JonBenet Ramsey. The question might be posed that if Karr could be linked to such physical evidence by experts, does he know who did kill the Ramsey girl? These are questions obviously left alone by authorities that allowed Karr to walk free in 2006. For those who discount Karr as a mythical madman, the aforementioned must be considered mere conjecture that matters not.

Whether it can be said that Karr had no connection to the Ramsey death or that he did and harbors critical information, all interested in this case are seeking a killer. With all certainty, a killer is free. Is the killer alive or dead? Is the killer completely unknown? The supposedly pertinent DNA evidence leads to a dead end and confirms that whomever it belongs to has never passed before the eyes of law enforcement which seems highly unlikely if its owner is a child killer. Was the killer released in 2006? If not, did the one released in 2006 know the identity of the real killer?

John Mark Karr is no longer a supposed threat to the people of Boulder or to the U.S. as a country if statements by his family are true that he left the United States in the autumn of 2008. The fact remains, however, that a killer is still free and that the people of the State of Colorado deserve more. Questions linger with a deserved answer. For a family who has lost their child, at the very least there is deserved a reverence of more attention granted to a 13 year old murder case that was passed from the district attorney to the city police.
